Time is money in this fast-paced society. For every second that passes, I can be earning another extra dollar or so (especially for e-commerce business owners). I sometimes feel like I cannot keep up with life’s pace, especially when I encounter all the nitty-gritty, frustrating details I have to take note of in my daily life. I’d love the thought of having more, or even endless time to work on my projects. While that is impossible, there are definitely some neat tricks I can use to maximize my productivity at work.

In today’s post, I will be introducing you to the top 3 ways to maximize your productivity at work. These tips cater to people coming from all walks of life, so you can try them out straight away and tell me if they work for you!

Tip 1: Make use of commute time


In Singapore, the peak hours are notorious for traffic. One may spend more than 45 minutes to travel to another place when you happen to go out of your house during peak hours. During that time, I will advise you to catch up on the news of the day by listening to podcasts that relate to your business. This is a great way to get a quick overview of what’s happening out in the world while doubling up on your commute time.

Tip 2: Be conscious of how you spend your time


The keys to maximizing productivity during your work are being conscious of how you spend your time. One should always try to plan his days even before they begin. For example, what time do you wake up, eat, or work? Do you have any time placed aside to work out, get your kids, and have lunch with your spouse? Once you get the hang of doing such planning, you will naturally be able to squeeze out that extra bit of time to have that long-needed break in your busy schedules, hence striking a healthy work-life balance.

Tip 3: Focusing on value-added tasks


One should always make time for strategic thought and craft a framework to prioritize where his or her time is most valuable. This will allow you to focus on those most value-added tasks in your life and reject the things that fall out of those bounds without any guilt. For starters, I will advise coming up with a to-do list the night before. This will help you concentrate on the important tasks of the day, and hence allow you to achieve maximal productivity.
