Are you wondering what are the best days to sell on Amazon? Here are some Amazon sales days that you may want to look out for!

Amazon Prime Day

For new sellers on Amazon, you may have heard of Amazon Prime Day and how significantly it can impact sales. However, how did Amazon Prime Day come about, and what does it mean for sellers? Today, let’s take a closer look at Amazon Prime Day.

Launched in 2015 amidst Amazon’s 20th anniversary, Prime Day is a shopping event exclusive to Amazon Prime members. Prime Day recreates the Cyber Monday and Black Friday sales and is one of the biggest selling days for Amazon sellers, as Amazon will be running massive advertisements for Prime Day, thus driving in tons of traffic. Most sellers will see a huge jump in sales beginning from Amazon Prime Day, and this can very well be their sales launchpad for their Q4 business ventures.

The Prime Day is normally set from late June to July each year by Amazon, but preparations for Amazon sellers interested to earn their share of sales from the Prime Day will typically begin in May. Here are the three ways sellers can participate in the Amazon Prime Day events: applying for the ‘Lightning Deals’, using Amazon coupons, and making use of ‘Deal of the Day (for Amazon vendors only).

Not every seller may meet the criteria for the above three methods mentioned. However, fret not – even if you are not eligible as a Prime Day seller, you can still make smart moves to leverage on the massive boost in the Amazon website traffic to generate more sales than usual. This includes creating your own deals other such as offering percentage-offs, discounts, buy-one-get-one-free offers. It’s entirely up to your own creativity and innovation!

The Black Friday and Cyber Monday Craze on Amazon

Two of the most anticipated events on Amazon are the Black Friday and Cyber Monday events (around late October to November of each year). Starting in 2013, these two events are a big deal on Amazon. They have changed the way people shop for holiday presents. Rather than waiting until the last week before the holidays, people try to get the best deals during this time of massive discounts.

As a seller or vendor, you’ll want to get in on this. Not only will a large amount of ready-to-spend buyers flock to Amazon, there will also be chances that your products get to show up on Amazon’s front page, hence increasing sales and your Amazon rankings tremendously!

Here are some tips I will like to give new sellers when preparing for these awesome events:

Tip 1: Know and Take Charge of your Inventory

The last thing you want to get into is to run out of inventory during this peak sales period of the year. Ideally, you should have at least 3-4 times the normal inventory you would for a non-holiday month’s worth of sales. While this may cost you more storage fees (or Amazon FBA fees), be reassured that this will pay off. It is definitely much better to know that you have enough stock to provide your customers with, than running out of your top-selling product in the middle of the holiday rush and letting your competitors get the upper hand of the shopping craze on Amazon.

Tip 2: Double-check to avoid Violation of any Amazon’s Policies

Make sure you stay informed and keep on the right side of Amazon’s policies. If you get an account suspension in the build-up to the sales period, your channel may not recover in time. Consistent sales and reputation are essential factors in being well positioned on Amazon for this period of time, so double-check diligently to avoid any possibility of being suspended by Amazon!

Tip 3: Start Advertising Early

The early bird catches the worm’ – this adage never fails, especially when you are running an Amazon business. Some Amazon retailers will start advertising their stores for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales even in September. Truth to be told, it doesn’t hurt to make your products top-of-mind for your customers as early as possible too. Do include information about exclusive promotions that you will be offering for your products, and get your customers to be excited about the great sales festival. You can continue to advertise all the way up to Christmas, to build up to the final Q4 shopping season!

Tip 4: Optimize Your Listings

Make sure everything on your listing is solid! For example, how do your product pictures look? Are your titles maximized for clicks? Do you use the correct keywords for your listings? Do your descriptions accurately describe what you’re selling? Help your customers to make quick purchasing decisions – or else, you will be losing them to other sellers!

Tip 5: Support Your Customers

With so many great deals on offer over one day, customers will have questions. How good is this camera at night? Is this laptop powerful enough for gaming? How long will it take to receive this product?

Customers want answers and they want them fast. The faster the quality support you can provide customers who engage with your channel, the more likely they are to make a purchase. So, do give them the support they deserve – and in turn, they will give you the sales you want!

Are you now more confident to brave these Amazon sales days? Gear up and start your preparations now, before it’s too late!
